Paul Millet Sevres Art Deco parakeet
A Paul Milet Sevres Art Deco ceramic figure of a parakeet in enamelled ceramic from around 1930.
Beautifully executed, the green satin plumage of the bird contrasting with the glossy black rock it perches on.
While Millet (1870-1950) is best known for his vases and pedestal bowls, his figural pieces perfectly represent high Art Deco style in France. They are frankly quite rare and this model is the first of its kind we have seen.
Signed on the base PM Sèvres, a signature in use from 1930.
