A Paris porcelain bridal vase, hand painted with rosebuds and gilding, c1890
Bridal cornet vases like these were an important tradition in France from the 1850s to the early 1900s. They were placed on the altar during the marriage and later featured in the couple’s wedding globe, along with other objects that symbolised a happy and fruitful marriage.
Very decorative in pastels with fancy pierced handles.

Width 7.2 inches / 18cm
Some wear to the gold finish, otherwise very good condition.
