Antique brulôt cup and saucer
An antique brulôt cup and saucer as used in French bistros cafés in the 19th and early 20th centuries.
A cup and saucer in heavy white porcelain with dainty hand painted decor in blue.
The brulot was the traditional cup in Parisian cafés with a very thick bottom to retain the heat, and a hollow in the bottom of the cup large enough to take a chaser of eau-de-vie, Calvados or the local nip of choice.
