Orivit Art Nouveau pewter bowl c1900
A rare Orivit pewter bowl, made around 1900.
Orivit was founded in Cologne by Ferdinand Hubert Schmitz in the 1890s.The company enjoyed a high artistic reputation for its Art Nouveau silver plate and pewter ware, which won a gold medal at the Paris Universal Exhibition in 1900. The factory quickly ran into financial trouble though, and was bought by WMF in 1905.

Good condition with a fine, warm patina. Marks to the inside of the bowl.
