French Art Deco Opalescent Glass Plafonnier Light by Roba Paris
A stunning Art Deco opalescent glass chandelier light signed Roba, Paris.
It’s in opalescent glass with true depth of colour, cool blue or uranium yellow, depending on how the light strikes it. The shade is 9-sided is beautifully moulded in relief with a pattern of roses and carnations.
It has its original chain suspension in gilt bronze with an ornate bronze ceiling cone.

In excellent condition. The glass has no damage or flaws and the bronze suspension has a warm gold patina. Unwired, but with ‘tongue’ for lifting light bulb away from the glass.
Roba was one of several glassworks in the 1920s and 1930s, competing with Verlys, Degué and producing extremely high quality opalescent glass lights in the style of Lalique and Sabino.
