Art Nouveau biscuit barrel in enamelled glass
A splendid Art Nouveau enamelled glass biscuit barrel with dimpled sides, c1890-1900.
It is hand painted in thick raised enamel in the style of Legras or Leune, with a different sweet chestnut decor on front and back. It has a wonderful brass handle ornately shaped like a ribbon. So pretty.

In very good condition. The enamel is bright and largely intact. One small fabrication bubble, resembling a drop of water on the outside. The lid is slightly misshapen around the rim but still fits well.
